I am building daffo forums at hungryflower.org for our permanent use with no ads and under our total control. They should be live in the short term (< 1 week), and slowly modified from there. I am using phpBB, which is common opensource forum software and pretty maleable to our needs. Currently we will not have only 100 megs of storage and moderate bandwidth, but if we begin to want to store large amounts of imagery or mp3s, obviously we can upgrade. I've got us some pretty inexpensive hosting that is pretty flexible.
I can give out forwarding email addresses to anyone who is interested. You can be whatever_you_would_like@hungryflower.org and I will set it up to forward to any other email address. You can email me at ignatz@hungryflower.org or just post here.

Dance (all things somatic/movement/physical characterization related)
Mummery (costumes and props)
Orchestra (gamelan is included here, also all show-music)
Vocal (singing, kecak, characterization)
Node (this would be, like, the Nomad et Obscura are a node with their musical ensemble, Laslo and Freign are a (open-ended but very demanding) node with the set-practicing and difficult theory (Il Fiore Affamato))

Okay all, Loki was over last night and we did some development and a lot of conceptual work. The site will have two parts to start with: a public area and a moderators area. All the core will be moderators. The mod area will be invisible to the public. All the rehearsal and related info will be private and available to he core only. The public face will allow us to cultivate some interaction from the outside. Freign is working on a front page for hungryflower that will direct access to the forum and a gallery that will eventually go up. Also hope to eventually have some limited mp3 sharing. The site will go live in a few days, and will be exceedingly plain at first, but we hope to quickly turn the graphics into daffo spledor. It's functional now, but I've got some testing and mods to make that may crash it a few times, so we'll wait a bit. I think that we will be very happy there.
Exciting ya'll, soon we will have our own phenomenon without interference by the perpetrations of the man.

Feel free to start posting and playing, knowing that a *lot* will likely change in the near future, including perhaps posts disappearing and crashes and such. But it's in working order. You have to head over to www.hungryflower.org/forum and register. At that point you can only see the public areas. Email or PM me there (my admin persona is JikoBou) and I'll make you a member of the core group and then you'll have full access. I'll be posting more notes over there. I apologize for the generica appearance, but it won't last long. -
